The VUMmer Hummers

Our children's choir is a dynamic and exciting group of young performers, who annually, in addition to their Sunday morning offerings, prepare and present two musicals.

               Rehearsals are Thursday afternoons from 3:45 to 4:45 during the school year,  

                     beginning with a brief snack time.

    VUMmer HUMmers is the awesome children’s choir at VUMC that welcomes all elementary-aged

    children to sing and perform throughout the school year. VUMmers rehearse Thursdays

    from 3:45-4:45 p.m. (carpooling available) at the church and sing 1 to 2 times a month during

    services and performs 2 musicals over the school year.   

                                                               Build the Membership

       New Members Needed

         With our now 6^th graders graduated from VUMmers and some other children not able to join us this year,

        our    membership has been reduced a bit.  We are seeking new folks for the 2008 - 2009 season.  Please

        encourage anyone in grades 1st - 5th to join our group.  Its lots of fun!

     Car Pooling Available

         If your child is in need of a ride to VUMmer rehearsal, please contact the Marianne Taylor by calling the church

         office at 785-3367.

Rehearsals 

Rehearsals remain on Thursday afternoons from 3:45 to 4:45.  As we get closer to musical time, the rehearsals will extend to 5:00 as noted below.  We will email any change to the rehearsal schedule below and your child will be informed of any changes.  Please make every effort to have your child at the church by 3:45 for snack (dining room) or 4:00 (music room) to begin rehearsal. 

      Cancellations

      If there is no school, VUMmer rehearsal is canceled.  Please call the church office if you are not

      sure whether or not practice will be canceled.

     Music Folder

      Please send your child with a double pocketed sturdy folder to hold his/her music.  Please be sure

      your child’s name is prominently written on the folder and that they bring the folder to EVERY rehearsal.

       Emergency Information

      Please provide an emergency phone number (ie. cell phone) and contact to be used

      during rehearsal time. 

         Rehearsal Pickup

      Please provide a list of people who will pick up your child(ren) and if they should wait inside or if

      they are to be released to go outside for pickup.  We will not allow children to go beyond the entry

      for pickup – please pull up to the double doors if you are not able to come in to pick up your child.  Thank you! 

       Timely Pick-up

       Please make every effort to be on-time to pick up your child.  Please call the church office at 785-3367.

    Snacks

       VUMmers will be given a snack each week at rehearsal from 3:45-4:00 and after 8:30 service

       or before 11:00 service when singing during service.

    Food allergies

       Please inform us of any food allergies.  Thank you.

    Snack $$s

      Once again this year we are collecting $10 per family (max $20 for the session) to cover snack

      expenses.  Please give your payment to either Shelly Farro or Marianne Taylor…if writing a check;

      please make it out to Michele Farro.  Thank you! 

     Information Update

            We ask that each family confirms their information along with providing an emergency number

     for contact during rehearsals and list the person/people that will pick up your child(ren).  Please see

      Marianne Taylor to review and confirm/update your information.
